Tugu Pratama IV: Tohari and Me

It was Wednesday, early in the morning, at the office.

Me : Can I borrow a car for tonight. I have to accompany our PD for an interview.
Tohari : Just fill this form and state what time you'll depart and whether you need a driver or not.
Me : OK. (I filled the form with a red-inked pen)
Tohari : stared at the form and mumbled.

Later that day, wednesday lunch time.

ARD : Why did you do that to Tohari?
Me : What did I do?
ARD : Tohari told me that you filled the form with red ink.
Me : Ya, I did. What's wrong with that?
ARD : You mustn't do that again next time. Don't you know, writing with red-ink is impolite?
It's a sign of mocking. Mr. Tohari didn't like you writing with red ink. He said, next time
you do it again, he'll just ignore you.
Me : I never knew that writing with red-ink such a big problem. Never heard of it. I didn't
mean to be impolite or to mock anyone. I used to write with red ink to my boss, as I give
him some note on his letter or proposal. He's taking it easy. Never complain.
ARD : Well, he mustn't know that red ink is impolite. For you, don't you ever do that again.
Me : chuckled in disgust and rolled my eyes.
